Faith, Works, and Grace
How does that work.
Once saved always saved?
Can a person fall from grace?
This is what we preach as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, here's an analogy...
We are all in a deep, deep pit, some deeper than others.
It is through the Grace of Christ, he places a ladder in the pit.
It's through our works and
the grace of Christ that
we have to get out of the
pit.
Christ places this ladder in the pit, each rung has a meaning.
The first rung...
Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. A Creedal Christian would do this in their confession prayer. Confessing what Paul taught, Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the 3rd day.
The second rung.
Repentance.
The third rung.
Baptism as what Peter proclaimed in Acts 2:38
The Forth rung.
The Gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands. As stated in
Acts 8:17-19
Acts 19:6
1 Tim 4:14
The 5th rung, seems to break when we grap it and we fall back into the pit, we start all over with the grace of christ with our works on each rung and our love for our redeemer.
1 John 1:8
